Simple Homemade Biscuits

These biscuits are cheap and simple to make, which is what I am all about. They take only 5 ingredients and just about a half an hour to put together. Plus, they are freezer friendly. These are great to have on hand in the freezer when you need freshly baked biscuits.

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Flour (I used AP)
  • 2 tablespoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Shortening or Butter (I used shortening)
  • 1 3/4 cups Milk

      1. Combine your dry ingredients in a bowl.

      2. Cut in shortening to form a semi-crumbly mixture.

      3. Add in your milk and stir.

      4. Roll out onto a floured surface until desired biscuit thickness is reached (remember they will rise when baked).

      5. Use a round cookie cutter in the size that you prefer and cut out your biscuits.

      6. Place them on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes.

    To Freeze:

Place on parchment lined cookie sheet and place in freezer till frozen. When you are ready to bake allow them to thaw for 30 minutes to an hour and then bake regularly.
